"To the ego, the present moment hardly exists. Only past and future are considered important. This total reversal of the truth accounts for the fact that in the ego mode the mind is so dysfunctional. It is always concerned with keeping the past alive, because without it - who are you?"
Eckhart Tolle This quote reminded me or the work we did in group this last Monday on Eckhart Tolle. It is an awesome reminder that in choosing to hold onto the past, even if it is painful, we do so purposefully in order to feel like we have some ground to stand on. A profound inner and outer revolution could take place if we were able to shake off our old solutions to old problems, our clichés, our limitations, and be here now. (via newmindschicago)
